A website for my wife's interior design business, Mindy Markowitz Design.
The goal was something image-forward and clean — a site that lets the portfolio speak without calling attention to itself. Interior design clients want to see the work, not the website.
Built the initial version in Lovable with plain HTML and CSS. Rapid prototyping there let me iterate quickly on the layout without getting caught in tooling. Once the design was close, I moved the codebase into Claude Code to add functionality, fix the small details that are hard to get right in a visual builder, and get everything production-ready.
The workflow — sketch fast in Lovable, refine precisely in Claude Code — turned out to be a surprisingly good pairing. Lovable for speed, Claude Code for control.
